What is the NWAS Be Think Do Leadership Framework?

We asked our people what they look for in a leader and they described someone who is compassionate, inclusive and resilient. A compassionate leader can emotionally connect with people and create a positive working environment where everyone thrives. An inclusive leader recognises that everyone counts and that it is the richness of lived experiences that make a team. A resilient leader can respond to highly pressured environments and has the ability to bounce back following adversity.

The centre of Be Think Do is about being a role model to others; a leader has to develop a protective shield to help build resilience. Abandoning these shields does not make a leader a hero, it puts them, their team and their patients’ safety, at risk. A healthy leader finds the right balance between looking after self and supporting their team.
